Capturing destination weddings involves clients from various corners of the globe. Typically, we don't get to meet face-to-face during the booking phase. However, an engagement session offers a great way for us to connect, for you to get comfortable in front of the camera, and for you to enjoy the experience of being photographed together. It is also the perfect way to start collecting memories that flow into your wedding journey. Additionally, engagement sessions are enjoyable and provide a chance to capture stunning, adventurous images without the constraints of a wedding day. We can arrange this the day prior to the welcome dinner or when you will be visiting your venue.

The photography timeline is the basement of our work, meticulously crafted from years of experience in the wedding industry to plan your day specifically on your needs and vision, making sure nothing is left to chance and every moment that matters the most to you is captured. Our timeline is based on giving the right amount of time to each event of the day, especially considering the light, and structuring everything in each part: your getting ready, the first look, the ceremony, group photos, the portrait session, candid shots at aperitivo, the formal entrance at the reception, details of the reception, speeches, cake cutting, dances, and the first dance.

There are so many aspects to curate, and we know exactly how much time to allocate to each part. To create a tailored photography timeline, we rely on finalized official wedding timeline (especially for ceremony and reception times), as well as insights gathered from your filled questionnaires, so that we can give the deserved time to all the moments of the day that matter the most to you and balance out all the rest.

t is vital that once the timeline is finalized, not to request to shorten any part of the day or limit any delays, as reducing time for specific events can lead to compromised results in photos and videos. We know precisely how long is needed to capture each moment effectively. Delays—whether caused by the makeup artist, the arrival of guests at the ceremony, or the timing of dinner—can create a domino effect that impacts the entire schedule and also your overall wedding day experience. By maintaining a well-structured timeline, we can ensure that every special moment is beautifully captured.

This is why we prioritize  the hour before sunset, called the Golden Hour when the soft pastel glow creates the perfect ambience for capturing your essence without harsh shadows. â€‹

Adhering to a well-structured wedding schedule is crucial for ensuring a calm and fruitful day for photography. Any delays in hair and makeup appointments can significantly alter the day's timeline, affecting the window for capturing portraits before the ceremony begins. We highly recommend scheduling a hair and makeup trial before the big day. Incorporating buffer time (around an hour) into key stages of your wedding preparation allows for unforeseen delays. Ideally, this strategy ensures that you conclude preparations on schedule, affording you a moment to savour a glass of champagne before the ceremony commences. Pro Tip: When informing family and the bridal party of their portrait session timings, consider setting the meeting time 15 minutes earlier than the actual start time to encourage punctuality.

These might sound basic and taken for granted, but we will assure you that they are so much underestimated!

LIGHT is factor number one when it comes to photos and films. Everything rotates around light for us. Not having light is a true nightmare, so make sure you have double-checked that every place we will go (your getting ready location, ceremony, portrait session spots, your reception & your dancefloor) will have enough light.

SPACE. Despite the fact that we love to capture intimate moments, we do not want to be part of them:) Jokes aside, we need space to walk around you and take all the possible angles and perspectives. A bright and tidy space will result and the most beautiful photos and clips, especially at your getting ready and ceremony altar!

TIME, as mentioned, needs to be organised to fully maximise the day and our coverage. Out of experience, there is also another side of time we need to mention. On your wedding day, you will have the feeling that times will fly two times faster than usual. So many things will happen and by the end of the day, you won’t believe how quickly everything went through. This is why we are there, you will let you live over and over again during the next years, every single moment, every single emotion.

That brings us to the last point. Slow motion. Yes, as weird as it sounds, we recommend you be in slow- motion mode, you will walk slowly, you will kiss slowly, or at least we will try to do that. This is not only extremely important for capturing photos and videos, but for you as well, that will give you the calmness to enjoy the moment, and of course, have the most beautiful captured memories as a result.

Throughout the ceremony remember to go in slow-motion mode. When you walk down the aisle, when you speak and especially for the first kiss. Even kiss twice! This will allow us to change perspective and make sure you have your first kiss between husband and wife in every possible version.

Let's start with the very beginning: the getting ready process is a really important and often underestimated part of the wedding day. It's a great opportunity to capture some emotional shots. As we mentioned, to ensure we get the best possible photos, make sure you have ample space for you and your bridal party to move around freely, and choose a space with lots of natural light flooding in through windows or doors. Poor lighting can result in poor photos, so it's important to prioritize this. If you're getting ready in a hotel room, ask for the brightest room available. A tidy space before our arrival will also result in more elegant photography and videography.

It is advisable to opt for a spacious, light-filled venue with a decor that complements or mirrors the ambiance of your wedding. This ensures a seamless transition in the visual narrative of your special day.

It's also essential to be ready on time. Starting the day late can cause a domino effect, resulting in delayed events, missed essential moments, or severely shortened moments.

IT'S ALL ABOUT DETAILS

When preparing your wedding day also consider buying a few details to make it even more special. For example, you can ask the florist to leave you some leftover flowers or leaves, they look great in photos!

Try to switch out the plastic hanger for your dress & his suit with a nicer wooden hanger. It's a tiny touch that really makes a big difference in the elegance of your dress photos!

Prior to your wedding, it would be greatly appreciated if you could arrange all the details you'd like to be photographed while you're getting ready. This includes ensuring that your invitation suite is complete and in pristine condition, complete with your preferred calligraphy, addressing, and stamps. Additionally, please have your welcome bag, favor, all paper products, dress, shoes, all wedding rings, and any other items you'd like to have photographed ready and available.

Write your vows prior to the wedding day. This is so worthwhile and removes so much stress of finding the right words or worrying you don’t have time.

We particularly enjoy styling still life shots, especially with items that hold special meaning to you. Please consider including family heirlooms, jewelry, ribbon, fabric, and any other items that can enhance the overall aesthetic of your images.

To ensure that we can capture these details as soon as we arrive, please have them all in the bridal suite where you'll be getting ready. Thank you for your cooperation and we look forward to capturing your special day!

This can be a really valuable and sometimes underestimated moment. After your getting ready and before the ceremony, seeing each other for the very first time, all dressed up is such an intimate and emotional moment and will give us time to capture some first shots of you together without anyone else around, giving you some peace and privacy.

A variation of this can be a first look with your mum and /or your dad.
Get a tissue box ready, parents and friends (especially dads) tend to get very emotional!

The ceremony is the core of the day. It is for us a crucial moment and, especially for the video side, there is so much for us to prepare. One important note that we have learned is to let guests know about our backup cameras around the ceremony to try to not stand in front of them. We will walk around you to get every corner and every perspective, it might be that we will shortly stay in front of some of your guests, this of course only for no longer than a few seconds. This is to get the best photos and clips possible and usually, it never is a problem, should it be please let us know in advance.

THE BETTER THE LIGHT, THE BETTER THE PHOTOS
Ceremony time has a large impact on the quality of your photos/video and the comfort of your guests. Avoid mid-day ceremony times and opt for a shady area. We will arrive first, capturing all the details and arrangements and also setting up our cameras. Ensure with your guests that we have enough space and visibility to capture the amazing photos and video you hired us for.

While we fully understand everyone's excitement to capture your wedding day, the presence of devices at your ceremony presents a notable challenge. Not only does it take away from them staying present and experiencing that moment, it often leads to unsightly distractions and obstruct the expressions and emotions of both you and your guests. To truly capture the essence of your special day through the lens of a photojournalistic approach, we encourage your guests to refrain from using their devices and instead immerse themselves in the ceremony with their undivided attention and heartfelt engagement.

Tip: Consider asking your officiant to make an announcement just before the start of the processional to request that guests put away their cameras and devices and be present during the ceremony.
